“Antiques On-The-Go Show” Appraisal Event Starts Fri., Sept. 26

Bi-monthly events at Glendale Auction house will provide free pre-auction assessment of antiques, heirlooms and other items

GLENDALE, Ariz. (September 19, 2014) – Wondering what the worth of your grandmother’s jewelry is? Curious if an oil painting may be of value to art collectors? Or maybe you’re remodeling and want to see if there will be a demand for the vintage lamp you’ve had for years?
EJ’s Auction & Consignment is launching a new series of free “Antiques On-The-Go Show” appraisal events taking place every other month starting Friday, Sept. 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A pre-auction verbal assessment of antiques, heirlooms and other items will be provided in an open room format for everyone to see and learn about the items. The limit is three items per person per session. While the events are free, reservations are requested. EJ’s Auction & Consignment is located at 5880 W. Bell Road, Ste. B in Glendale on the northeast corner of 59th Ave. and Bell Rd.

EJ’s owner and auctioneer Erik Hoyer said many people don’t realize the value of their family heirlooms and that the appraisal process helps them make educated decisions about whether to keep or sell their items. “We compare items to previous auction records, gallery prices, eBay and other sites to tell you what the fair market is bringing for your item as well as what the insurance value might be. You’d be surprised at what has value, so don’t ever throw anything away until an appraiser looks at it,” Hoyer said.

The next “Antiques On-The-Go Show” after Sept. 26 will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fri., Nov. 21. A new list of dates for the 2015 appraisal event and free educational classes will be announced soon.
