EJ’s Auction & Appraisal is hoping the public will come together and bid on seven unique items during a special four-week auction to benefit the family of fallen Phoenix Police Officer Zane Coolidge. Bidding began on Saturday, Oct. 26 and the auction ends on Saturday, Nov. 16.

Officer Zane Coolidge, 29, was shot and killed in the line of duty while responding to a call in September. He served five years with the Phoenix Police Department and worked as a certified Field Training Officer in the Mountain View Precinct, training those who have just graduated the academy. He left behind a loving wife and a five-month-old daughter.

“Our EJ’s team was devastated to learn about the tragic loss of Officer Coolidge,” said Erik Hoyer, CEO and owner of EJ’s Auction & Appraisal. “We know the holiday season will be difficult for his family, and we’re hoping funds raised by this special auction will help them. We chose seven unique items from our Buy It Now store for the auction, and 100 percent of proceeds will be donated to the family.”

The auction items include a vintage Mobil Oil Pegasus porcelain enameled sign, a 5-foot, life-size Astro Boy fiberglass statue, a vintage Chadburn brass engine order telegraph, a vintage AMF Fire Chief 503 pedal car, a Michelin Tires advertisement porcelain sign, an antique Martin & Co. ship binnacle with compass, and a vintage Watts Detective Agency enameled metal sign.

EJ’s is working with a family liaison from the Phoenix Police Department, and after the auction is complete, EJ’s will donate 100 percent of proceeds to the Coolidge family.
