My original office was a bit drab and lacking in personality. I knew I wanted to wipe the slate clean and start fresh with fun pieces and bright colors for my office makeover. Besides one small couch, I was looking to pick up all new furniture for my space at the auction. I wanted to find some decorative items as well, but decided to start with my large furniture pieces and then move on to accessories.

My first order of business: find a great desk! I was super lucky to have two desks similar to what I was looking for come up for auction the second week of bidding. I won my first choice, a Queen Anne style desk, for the bargain price of $50! Major score! I fixed it up a bit, painted it white, and added new hardware and it is now the centerpiece of my room.

I also bought a large dresser for office storage, which I then painted, and a 3-tiered metal baker’s rack to hold my electronics. Both pieces are not only functional, but beautiful additions to my office.

Once those purchases were made, it was time to move on to fun, decorative pieces! I won a globe on a stand, a set of lamps, a model ship, and a super cool cuckoo clock with my remaining auction budget. They are quirky and eclectic and vintage, just what I was looking for to make my office more interesting and fun! And boy did I have to fight for that cuckoo clock during the auction, but it was totally worth it.

The entire space came together beautifully. I now have an office worthy of some seriously creative work happening in it! I hope you like the finished product as well!
